  • Home address — to verify you are a constituent of the official's district
  • Geographic coordinates — derived from your address for district verification
  • Message content — transmitted to the official on your behalf
  • IP address — collected temporarily for rate limiting and fraud prevention

We do not collect payment information or require account creation.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To transmit your message to the elected official
  • To verify that you reside within the official's district
  • To prevent abuse and enforce rate limits

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate CGConnect:

  • Mailjet — email delivery of your message to the official
  • Radar — address autocomplete and geocoding
  • MongoDB Atlas — district boundary verification
  • Upstash Redis — rate limiting
  • Vercel — hosting and infrastructure

Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing how they handle data.

5. Data Retention

We do not retain your submitted information after it has been transmitted to the official. IP addresses used for rate limiting are stored temporarily and expire automatically.
